Perpetual Harvest Ministries - Brother Cayce Talbott True Repentance of the six most basic doctrines of Christianity that the writer of the book of Hebrews lists, the very first of them is having "repentance from dead works". We already discussed what repentance means; mainly that it is a changing of your mind about HOW to be made righteous with God, through Jesus Christ. But what exactly are dead works? The word dead here might also be translated as void, meaning that it doesn't count or benefit you in any kind of way. The word works is simply talking about you deeds, your actions and even your very lifestyle. If we put it all together we might just simply say that the works that you do, the good deeds that you have done and even the fact that you've led a pretty good life or lifestyle doesn't count for a thing when you're trying to get into heaven. All you've done means absolutely NOTHING!

"The Teeth and the Tablets"
God's Divine Purpose for the Law
When you were just kids you might remember either your dentist or your school passing out packs of chewable tablets that were designed to teach you how to brush your teeth better. The tablets came in a pack of two, and after you brushed your teeth you would chew the two tablets up until they disolved in your mouth. Then when you smiled in the mirror you would see dozens of little red spots on your teeth that would show you all the spots that you missed when brushing them.
The residue from the two little tablets would cling to any stains or plaque that were on your teeth that you missed while brushing, therefore revealing all of the stains on them that your naked eye could not see. Just when you thought that your teeth were now clean and white by your own efforts, you chew on the tablets and find out that they're still dirty inspite of all of your own efforts. No matter how hard you brushed, the tablets would always reveal some stains that you couldn't reach on your own. The whole experience was designed to encourage you to visit your local dentist at least twice a year to have them professionally cleaned.
In the very same way God gave mankind two tablets in which He wrote the Law onto as a way to reveal all of the stains in your life. The Law was never designed to clean you up or wash away the stain of sin in your life, but rather to simply reveal it to you. The Law openly reveals that, inspite of your own efforts, you can not get rid of the stain of sin on your own because they are out of your reach. Just like going to a qualified dentist to clean your teeth for you, the Law shows us that in order to be clean we must go to the only qualified being in existance who can remove our stains of sin... The Lord Jesus Christ.
Just like tablets for your teeth were never designed to make them clean and white again, but only reveal to you the stains that are there... so also are the tablets of the Law that can only reveal your iniquity to you, but fail to have the ability to remove your iniquity from you. It is only by the Grace of God through putting your Faith in Jesus Christ can you be clean. The Law was Never designed for you to be able to keep it, but rather to show you your need for Grace. Once you are clean the Old Covenant Law serves no more purpose and has become obsolete to the believer because Jesus Himself did with the Law what no man could ever do... He fulfilled it! (Heb 8:13)
"For Sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are NOT under Law but under GRACE." -Romans 6:14
There is a false doctrine of devils that teaches people that your good works alone can get you into heaven, or that you can have eternal life just because you go to Church on Sunday. The Word of God teaches that it is only by God's Grace that we are saved, you cannot earn it. (Ephesians 2: 8&9) You cannot get to heaven by being a pretty good guy, or by being a respectable young lady. Hell is full of pretty good guys and respectable young ladies! No amount of kindness, no amount good deeds, no amount of generosity and no amount of religion can get you into heaven. Only by trusting in Jesus can anyone hope to be saved.
This is where repentance from dead works comes in. Since you cannot get yourself into heaven you must REPENT for believing that you could. You must Change Your Mind about trying to get to heaven YOUR way instead of GOD'S way. In other words, realize that only by believing that Jesus Christ has already done all of the work for you on the cross, and by putting your trust completely and only in Him and His Grace that you can be saved from eternal condemnation. Only someone who was born without sin and who lived a completely sinless life could ever qualify to be our savior. That rules YOU and ME out completely!
Since Jesus Christ, the Word, IS God who came in the flesh (John 1:1), and because He was conceived supernaturally through the power of the Holy Spirit in a virgin; He was born as the spotless, unblemished Lamb of God and completely sinless. Not only was Jesus born on earth that way, He stayed that way so that He could one day take all of the sin of the world upon Himself while on the cross. Think of it, all the sin of King Herod the Great who murdered precious little babies in the streets of Israel. All of the sin of serial killers like Jack the Ripper in England, all of the sin of Adolph Hitler who murdered thousands upon thousands of innocent Jews during the Holocaust. All of the sin of ruthless former dictators like Saddam Hussein, YOUR sin, MY sin; the sin of every person who has ever existed and ever will exist were all laid upon Jesus who knew no sin, all at the same time... Once and for All.
- Brother Cayce Talbott - Madame Jeanne Guyon Jesus took the punishment for YOUR sin and MINE on the cross where He poured out His precious Blood to wash us clean from all the sins that we have ever committed and even thought about... no matter how bad or how little. He paid our debt that we were unable to pay and forgave us for all of our sins. But in order to receive the forgivness that He offers us and His free love gift of eternal life, the Bible says that we must believe in our hearts that He died for us on a cross and was raised from the dead, and that we must confess Him as Lord with our mouths. Jesus also said that unless we believe on Him then we will perish, but that it is not His will that we perish in hell but that we ALL should Believe in Him. If you are now willing to follow Jesus, and to confess Jesus Christ as the Son of God and your Lord, and commit to Him ... then pray this prayer now. I promise that if you are sincere, God will listen. that I am in need of your forgiveness. I believe that you are the Son of God, and that you came to earth and died for me on a cross and shed your blood to forgive my sins. I believe that you rose from the dead and that you are with God the Father now in heaven. I ask you now to come into my heart as I now receive your 1) Jesus Christ said that you must be baptized in water for the remission of sins in the name of the Father, of the Son (Jesus) and of the Holy Spirit. This is a commandment! 2) Find a home church that preaches Jesus Christ where you can be discipled, serve and have fellowship with other Christians. This is very important, you are now part of the Body of Christ and need guidence. 3) Read your bible often to understand God's Word and His will for your life. This will help you get to Know Him. One Last Thing "The preaching of the gospel without the Cross is the laughing stock of hell." Just believe in Him and you shall be Saved.
Abandonment to God is a matter of great importance in our progress ... Abandonment and the cross go hand and hand ... You will not find consolation in anything other than the love of the cross and total abandonment.
HOW TO MEET JESUS CHRIST
In the book of acts chapter 2 verse 37 the Bible says that after the Apostle Peter preached in Jerusalem the crowed asked him, "WHAT MUST WE DO TO BE SAVED". Beloved, it is my prayer that in this day and time when the Lord's coming is so near that you who do not yet know the Lord Jesus Christ would ask that same question with the sincerity of knowing the truth.
The answer that Peter gave them in verse 38 was this... "REPENT (change your mind about how to come to God), and let EVERYONE of YOU be baptized in the name of JESUS CHRIST for the remission of sins; and YOU shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is to YOU and YOUR children, and to ALL who are afar off as many as the Lord our God will call."
Beloved, Jesus Christ, the creator of all things came to this earth, was conceived by the Holy Spirit, was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed healings and miracles, cast out demons and raised the dead, was brutally beaten and broken for your healing and restoration, then was offered up as a sacrifice on a bloody cross for sin on your behalf where He died, then 3 days later He rose from the dead as He fortold and was seen by over 500 witnesses at once and ascended into heaven where He now sits at the right hand of God the Father making intercession for those who believe.
Dear Jesus, I confess that I have sinned against you and
forgivness for my sin. I confess you as MY Lord, and as
MY Savior and I ask you to baptize my in your Holy Spirit.
Thank you Lord Jesus for saving me.
In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ I pray.... Amen.
